ओटावा । लिबरल पार्टीका मार्क कार्नी क्यानडाका नयाँ प्रधानमन्त्री नियुक्त भएका छन् । नवनियुक्त प्रधानमन्त्री कार्नीले शुक्रबार शपथ खाएका छन्।
हालै क्यानडाको लिबरल पार्टीको नेतृत्वको चुनावमा विजयी भएपछि केन्द्रीय बैंकका पूर्वगभर्नर कार्नी क्यानडाको प्रधानमन्त्री बनेका हुन्।
सामान्यतया क्यानडाका प्रधानमन्त्रीको पहिलो विदेश भ्रमण अमेरिका हुने गर्छ। तर स्रोतका अनुसार मार्क कार्नीको पहिलो भ्रमण सोमबार फ्रान्स र बेलायत हुनेछ। त्यसो त कार्नीले पार्टीको नेतामा विजयी हुनासाथ अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्पसँगको व्यापार युद्ध जित्ने प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त गरेका थिए।
जस्टिन ट्रुडो नौ वर्ष क्यानडाको प्रधानमन्त्री बने। उनको स्थान कार्नीले लिएका हुन्।
ट्रुडोले जनवरीमा पार्टीभित्र बढ्दो दबाबका कारण लिबरल पार्टीले नयाँ नेता चयन नगर्दासम्म मात्र पदमा रहने बताएका थिए।
