त्यसपछि शाहीले नमानेपछि पन्तले इतिहास पढेर आफूसँग बहस गर्न आउन चेतावनी समेत दिए। ‘मसँग बहस गर्ने हो भने इतिहास पढेर आउनुहोस्। मैले पढेको इतिहास गलत हो भने पुष्टि गर्न आउनुहोस्,’उनले भने।
उनले नेपालको संविधानले राजतन्त्र नचिन्ने बताए। उनले भने,’ अहिले संविधानले राजतन्त्र चिन्दैन। त्यसैले संसदमा यस विषयमा छलफल गर्न पाइँदैन। राजतन्त्र इतिहासको विषय भइसक्यो।’
उनले राजतन्त्र ल्याउने संघर्षका लागि सडकमा उत्रिने वातावरण नबनाउन चेतावनी समेत दिए।
